Fly Feet loves a good power couple that works out together. First tell us how the two of you met! Then, tell us how you met your other love, Fly Feet.

Brian and I have known each other a LONG time…we actually both moved to Texas as kids with our families and just happened to start at the same elementary school. That was in the 3rd grade!! I have a love letter that he wrote me when we were 9 years old where he basically professed his love and it’s been that way ever since! We dated on and off through high school and eventually got engaged in college. We got married right after graduation (that’s TX style ☺). It has been an adventure for sure – the good, the bad and the ugly but we are coming up on 20 years of marriage this summer so we must be doing something right??

Our love of Fly Feet basically started right when you all opened your doors downtown. I knew Kristin from Target and came to one of the first open house/trial classes!! I was blown away at the intensity of the workout and how motivated I was. It completely crushed me but I’ve been coming back for more ever since!

What kind of training did you do prior to joining Fly Feet and how long have you been members here?

We were both regulars at Lifetime but started to feel like a hamster on a wheel. It was the same thing over and over again and I wasn’t seeing the results I felt I should be seeing. I was mostly doing spin classes and then running on my own. Bri was running and lifting. I honestly dreaded going to the gym every morning but I did it anyways. It is a completely different feeling at Fly Feet. I get excited when I walk in the door! I never had that feeling at Lifetime. So I’ve been a member since shortly after you first opened downtown. Bri is a founding member at Wayzata.

If you had to choose a celebrity as your permanent workout partner who would it be and why?

Bri chooses Michael B. Jordan. He is an all-around stud. We both became fans of his when he was on Friday Night Lights (again, a nod to our TX roots) but he was also incredible in Creed. My pick would be Pink. She is in such a powerhouse, both mentally and physically so I feel like a work out with her would kick my butt but also be really motivating.

We’ve had the pleasure of meeting your two daughters through our kids training class! If the four of you had to form a team what sport would you dominate?

Hudson is 11 and Rosie just turned 5. I guess it would be a triathalon relay. Hudson is a strong swimmer, Bri and I could cover the running portion. Rosie is just learning to ride a bike but we are confident she will be good at it and would crush that portion of the race! ☺

What has been your biggest fitness accomplishment since joining Fly Feet?

I would say overall strength and energy. We set a goal in 2018 to run a half marathon every 3 months (in different cities across the US). Each one we did became a little easier…..we attribute 100% of that to training at Fly Feet.

Do you have any big goals to reach in 2019?

Brian’s goal is to look like Michael B. Jordan. ☺ Seriously his goal is to remain fit while traveling every week. Mine is to be in the best shape of my life. I don’t want age to be a factor in slowing down or using it as an excuse to not be fit. And most importantly, I want it because of our girls. I want them to be inspired and also put fitness and overall health as a top priority as they are growing up.

What are you most looking forward to with the upcoming Challenge?

The Challenges are great because they give me a chance to set a goal and focus on just one thing. I think for this one, it will be to get 8.5 hours of sleep a night. I always try and stay on track with healthy eating and working out but it’s been tough the past months with holiday festivities. So I am looking forward to hitting the reset button and kicking 2019 off with a bang!
