Rel Kendall is one of our frequent fliers and does amazing work to support the youth in our city. Check out the 5K that she’s putting on in August!
Run Like REL first launched in 2011 as an inspirational blog to motivate others to set bold goals and cross marathon finish lines. RLR’s mission has evolved to inspire youth to dream BIG, set goals and achieve their own definition of success.
In an effort to close the Twin Cities high school achievement gap, RLR provides unique and innovative workshops and events for youth outside of the classroom. Their focuses include; college-bound programming, network and career development and active lifestyle events. A leadership and scholarship component is also in the works.
Inspiration Behind 5K: To combine my passion for running and giving back. I found no better way than to make RLR’s 5K come to life to represent the vision to help young people set and go after their goals. We are using the race as a metaphor for setting goals, chasing after them and accomplishing your dreams at the finish line - whatever that may be for you.
We believe encouraging young people to achieve their own definition of success is a powerful message and provide the motivation and support to help them get there.
