Fly Feet Running - Jamison

I remember my first Fly Feet class quite well. It will forever be the moment defined as, what did I get myself into… and here I am one year later. It totally crushed me, but even better, it blew me away. I didn’t know I could run that fast, for that long. I didn’t know my legs could burn that way and my stomach could literally curl up inside myself.  I found intensity, and what an impression it has made on me.

You know who else’s first Fly Feet class I remember? Jamison H’s. Why do I remember it so well? Because it was one of those moments you stop in your tracks and just stare. The guy literally crushed himself. Jamison found Fly Feet because he was looking for something new to try. He was at the point in his fitness journey where he couldn’t motivate himself to get out the door to run and was willing to give us a shot.

So when I asked Jamison what his initial reaction was after that first workout he said, “Oh my gosh I’m out of shape!!!!!” But then that realization quickly turned into memories of how fun it was to work that hard like he has in the past, have a group of people training alongside you, and coaches pushing you for more. 

Jamison is an experienced runner having competed at the collegiate level for Hamline University. When comparing Fly Feet workouts to college workout he notices tons of similarities in the interval training and lots and lots of speed work. He now finds that adding in the strength work is what’s turning him into a better athlete, not just a better runner. In the midst of a Fly Feet workout he has a few survival tactics that include reminiscing on being back at the track and crushing repeat intervals, concentrating on keeping good form on the floor, and when all else fails just close your eyes and countdown the seconds!

Every single coach knows Jamison because of the effort he puts in day in and day out. His personal goals have transformed from changing his body to pulling more intensity on the floor to match his treadmill grit, and now to improving his overall fitness based on specific speeds on the tread and weights on the floor. We, as coaches, are beyond excited to be a part of helping you achieve your goals every step of the way. Way to crush yourself, Jamison :)
